Today marks the beginning of Mardi Gras. Yeah, that’s right. It’s just not any other Friday.  It’s January 6^th which is exactly 12 days after Christmas.  It is also commonly known as the Twelfth Night and the kickoff to Mardi Gras.  I’m not going to give you the whole run-down of the history of Mardi Gras.  You can just as easily get a better understanding from Wikipedia then from me.  However, January 6^th is significant because it does signify the start of king cake season.  Yeah, we ship them year-round but it’s more symbolic than anything.
