2012 King Cake Season is Here
Posted by NolaCajun on 1/6/2012
Today marks the beginning of Mardi Gras. Yeah, that’s right. It’s just not any other Friday. It’s January 6th which is exactly 12 days after Christmas. It is also commonly known as the Twelfth Night and the kickoff to Mardi Gras. I’m not going to give you the whole run-down of the history of Mardi Gras. You can just as easily get a better understanding from Wikipedia then from me. However, January 6th is significant because it does signify the start of king cake season. Yeah, we ship them year-round but it’s more symbolic than anything.
NolaCajun offers the Traditional King Cake which is my favorite and of course the Filled King Cake with 15 different flavors to choose from. You will be hard-pressed to find another king cake retailer that offers that much variety. Lastly, the newest king cake item we are offering this year is a mini king cake…basically your own personal king cake. Stay tuned to Twitter (@nolacajun) or Facebook (facebook.com/nolacajuncom) for news on when that new treat is hitting the site. Don’t forget that shipping is included in the price you see unless you want it Overnighted (new word) and an additional cost will be included.
Mardi Gras is just over one month long this year ending on Fat Tuesday February 21st which most locals would consider that “early”. Buy, you have plenty of time to get your order in and ship a few or ten to your friends and family across the U.S.
