Progress Grocery has seen four generations of Perrone’s manage one of the oldest Italian groceries in the city of New Orleans. The original Progress Grocery opened its doors in 1924 on Decatur Street in the New Orleans French Quarter. Although the Decatur Street location is not there anymore, Progress Grocery is still thriving in Metairie, LA, a suburb of New Orleans.

This Progress Olive Salad made the mini muffalettas that I just served at a local women's club meeting at my home. Everyone was really impressed and wanted my recipe. So I had to confess that it came from a jar. They wouldn't believe me until I showed them the jar. Homemade taste in a jar...it doesn't get any better than that.

Really like the taste of the Progress Grocery Olive Salad. combined with the Muffuletta Bread tastes very good. Hard to beat a fresh muff from Central or Progress but this is the next best thing!
