We used this product to enhance a special pretzel recipe for snacks. It was a huge hit and everyone asked us what the spice was that gave it so much flavor. The only draw back is the shipping cost for one 5 oz unit. I don't go through the product that much so I didn't need bulk. The shipping almost doubled the price. I wish my local store would carry it!

The Conrad Rice Mill is the oldest rice mill in America. Conrad was an astute businessman, steadily growing his business to the point where he no longer grew enough rice to meet demands. Buying grain from the other growers in the area supplemented his own crop. To satisfy his customer's requests, he also began to sell the rice in smaller sized bags. In the 1950's, "KONRIKO" was trademarked as an acronym for "CONRAD RICE COMPANY." Although Conrad Rice Mill Inc. is not operated by the Conrad family today, it is still located in New Iberia, LA.
CAJUN FRYING TIPS:

1. Chill foods to be fried as cold as possible (in ice water or chilled marinades and batters) prior to breading.
The colder the food when immersed in properly heated oil, the better the seal holding natural juices in.
2. Never bread foods until the last possible moment.  Shake off excess breading; never overcrowd the fryer,
when oil darkens, strain prior to further use.
3. Correct oil temperature 350 degrees F to 375 degrees F must be maintained at all times.  Oil is ready when
small crouton sizzles when dropped into hot oil.  Add foods to be fried slowly when necessary to maintain
    oil temperature, thickest portions first.
4. Pan-Frying: Fry in oil level halfway up the vertical height of the food to be pan fried.  It is necessary that
coating maintain contact with pan surface for a superior crust.  Do not allow food to float in oil.
5. When deep frying, food should not stick to bottom of the pan.

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oil to 350 degrees F.
2. Mix 6 tablespoons of LOUISIANA BRAND CHICKEN FRY MIX in 3/4 cup of water.
3. Mix until smooth.
4. Dip chicken in batter.
5. Roll chicken in remaining 7 ounces of dry fry mix until coated.
6. Deep fry at 350 degrees F until golden brown.
Coats approximately 3 to 5 pounds of chicken.
