My wife and I cook for a local soup kitchen once a month and decided to make gumbo for our clients, which number about 100. There was no way I was going to make roux from scratch to feed that many folks, so I resorted to buying Savoie's Roux from Nola Cajun. The chicken and sausage gumbo turned out great and our clients loved it. Savoie's and Nola Cajun rule!

Savoie's started as a little country store, Savoie's Grocery, run by Tom and Eula Savoie on Highway 742 in Opelousas, LA. Today, Savoie's is located along Bayou Little Teche in rural St. Landry Parish and offers a variety of Cajun rouxs and Cajun entrees.
