Progress Grocery has seen four generations of Perrone's manage one of the oldest Italian groceries in the city of New Orleans. The original Progress Grocery opened its doors in 1924 on Decatur Street in the New Orleans French Quarter. Although the Decatur Street location is not there anymore, Progress Grocery is still thriving in Metairie, LA, a suburb of New Orleans.
